Ted Cruz Proposes New Impeachment Rules – And Democrats’ Top Witnesses Should Be Sweating


Despite Nancy Pelosi’s best efforts, the House’s impeachment articles against Trump are finally going to the Senate.
There was speculation that the Republican-controlled Senate would just dismiss the charges without a trial. That was enough to make Pelosi reverse course (something she’s good at doing) and actually do what the Constitution required.

A trial will turn out to be a good thing for the president. He will have a chance to clear his name before the entire country. Also, the Democrats will not be able to say Republicans “protected” Trump with a quick dismissal.
Already Democrats in the Senate are demanding witnesses. We know they did a poor job convincing Americans in the House inquiry.
So, Senate Democrats want a “redo” with a new hearing. Probably not going to happen.
But Texas Senator Ted Cruz had a pretty good idea that will make Democrats regret their demand.

On Tuesday, Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) suggested an idea that could trigger calling former Vice President Joe Biden and his son Hunter to be called as witnesses in President Trump’s impeachment trial in the Senate. Cruz called for “witness reciprocity,” which would enable GOP leaders in the Senate to call a witness of their own for every witness called for by Senate Democrats.
Democrats like Chuck Schumer have been crying about dragging new witnesses into the Senate trial.
Cruz countered back with a brilliant solution: for every witness the Democrats want, Republicans get their own.
Sounds fair, right? Which means the Democrats will hate it. They refused to show fairness or respect to Republicans during their House hearings. So, they’ll try to pull the same stunt this time around.
Especially when you hear the names of the people Cruz wants to bring before the Senate: Joe and Hunter Biden.

This entire impeachment sham started because Democrats were trying to distract from Biden’s shady dealings with Ukraine.
If they push for more partisan witnesses that will throw Trump under the bus, then Cruz will force Joe and Hunter to testify.
What will this father/son duo be forced to admit under oath?
We could learn about all kinds of wrongdoing between the former vice president and his son—who worked for a Ukrainian company.
That would certainly throw the 2020 primaries for a loop. And even put the entire election into question.
Will Americans want to vote for Joe Biden, after we find out what he’s been up to?
Maybe Democrats should have just kept their mouths shut.
